Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I'm trying to break my lease. I'm a suicide risk and have been advised by mental health professionals to evacuate my leased apartment. I have hospital documentation to support my risk factor and do not know how to go about breaking my lease. I signed for a year but with additional treatment cannot afford to stay at my place. Do I have grounds to present this information and expect an agreement for my break with forfeiting my deposit?

Your health is certainly more important than an apartment lease, but generally health issues and other personal issues such as job loss are generally not grounds to get out of a lease (unless the lease itself provides). The lessor is generally not an insurer of the personal issues that arise with the tenants. You should certainly ask and maybe they will do something, but if you make a deal with them make sure you get it in writing.
