Breaking my Lease

My roomate was robbed coming into our apts. She doesn�t feel comfortable staying here so we have decided to move. Our apt manager said that we must pay an extra months rent and we wouldn�t get our security deposit back. Is that true? We do have a police report also.

Your lease will likely answer the question about early termination fees, etc. You don't tell us what it says. The apartment complex is generally not responsible for the crimes committed by others, or to guaranty your safety (absent that being in the lease, or otherwise a part of their agreement).
