I broke a lease and am getting sued for $1,600, I am unemployed and can not pay this if I get sued and lose. What actions can the landlord take if he wins in court?

He can take his judgment and levy on your bank account, can seize your assets (such as a car) or can garnishee your wages in the future.
Depending on what other debt you have, now might be a good time to talk to a lawyer about bankruptcy.
