Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
Dear LawGuru Team,
I am a college student who rents an apartment. I pay for my own electricity and water through the city I live in. My tub has been dripping for more than 6 weeks now. I informed the apartment complex of this maintenance issue more than 4 weeks ago. They continue to say that they will send someone to fix the problem but they have yet to send anyone. I am not allowed, by my lease, to have outside maintenance workers, such as a plumber, work on my apartment without written permission from the apartment complex, which they rarely give. What are my rights in this situation?

You may be able to do the repair and deduct it from rent. See a lawyer before attempting this.
