Extended Guest Stays - Legal Statue

I have a 2 bedroom apartment that I want to let a person use for a while. I want to be in compliance with the law as it relates to extended stay for guest, but I don't know it. The person will be there for 3 to 6 months as I will be on the west coast part of the time. What does the law state about this. I don't want them on the lease and don't want to submit any credit info. It is my home they are just staying there.

Please advise

I assume you are leasing based on your post, in which case the first place to look is your lease.

Assuming you are a tenant and you want to sublease part of the property, look to your lease as to whether you are allowed to assign or sublease the property. If your lease does not prohibit it, you can re-rent. However, you should also have a written lease with the subtenant.
