Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
My husband recently lost his job and we were a week late on the rent. the landlords told us to move. we have and now there safe constantly calling me saying I owe them more money and are threatening to serve me with papers for small claims court at my work. my husband is the only one who signed the lease and I was listed at living there. can the go after me for the money? The call and threaten to make trouble at my job if I don't pay them. Is that harassment? they state that because they have been paid before with checks from my checking account that they can go after me for the money since he is unemployed. can they? Am I legally responsible for this? They seem to be making up different amounts of money each time.

If your husband was the party to the lease, it is only he who they could properly sue.
