Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
Illegal Entry by landlord representative
I live in a mobile home park. While my husband and I were on vacation, all of the plants, tools, etc. on our porch were thrown in the trash can and the lock on the door was broken. We thought someone had tried to rob us, but there was a note on the door that the park had entered our home ''accidentally'' and would fix the door. They were trying to repossess the house across the street, and somehow did not see the clearly marked numbers on ours. Our door was unlocked for four days, the door was broken, and the plants destroyed. They have offered to replace the door and replace the plants. Do we have a case for criminal trespass or illegal entry or should we accept the minimal repairs? Also, it's been 10 days and they've only fixed the lock temporarily. They keep saying it will be ''soon.''

Re: Illegal Entry by landlord representative
You should expect to be fully compensated for damages, including doors, locks, plants, and anything else. If you have not done so already, you may provide them a written notice of the damages. You may also give them written notice that you would like this matter settled (through money or repairs) within ten days, or you will have no choice but file a suit. Hopefully this will get them going. If not, consider a complaint in magistrare court. You can certainly ask a lawyer if there may be other damages, but based on what you posted, consider what it is worth to make you whole and not get into a major dispute.
