Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
My kids and I rent my mom and dads other house. We don't have a lease. My mom said she would kick us out if we got a dog. We have one already. We are wanting to move now that she said that. If I don't pay rent and move can she sue me for the rent that we verbally agreed upon? And can she just kick us out. Also she makes us pay the taxes and insurance and the mortgage for this house to live there. Also they had to buy a new A/C unit for the house and we also have to pay that by her raising our rent to cover the monthly payment. If I don't pay rent how long do I have to move out?

How about the obvious easy solution that responsible adults would do? You speak to your mother, agree on a move-out date and you pay rent at an agreed rate through that date. If you want to bait your mother into having to evict you and your family because you won't pay rent, it probably does not matter how we answer. It is your credit report that suffers for years to come, and your belongings that might be put out on the street.
