Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Landlord enters home without notice

My Landlord comes into my home/onto my land without my permission and without giving a 24 hour notice. He once came to my home during the moring when my family was sleeping and knocked twice loudly. Before I could answer the door, he just let himself in.

He has came into my home when I was here SEVERAL times, without giving my family a call or any type of notice. I also think he has came into my home when noone was here, without my permission.

Is this legal? What can I do?

Re: Landlord enters home without notice

The terms of the lease dictate the landlord's rights to enter the property. If the lease requires certain notice and the landlord id not give such notice, you potentially would have a claim against the landlord for breach of the lease. However, your actual damages would probably be minimal. So, terminated the lease and moving will be your best option if it really bothers you.
