Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
a landlord told me that i broke lease and told me i needed to vacate the property and pay the lease breaking fee. i made them aware that the carpet was stained and that there were some tack holes in the wall and asked if i needed to pay for those to be repaired. the landlord stated that the carpet was to be replaced anyway and that i did not need to worry about it. then a few months later they sent me a bill stating that i needed to pay for the repairs. (the bill was more than $3000.00). i disputed this with the landlord and they sent the bill to collections. now the bill has shown up on my credit report. what should i do?
