Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Lease agreements concerning layoffs from work

I have been told that your lease agreement with any leasee, as pertaining to an apartment, finding outI have just lost my job and will be moving back to my home in another state, the apartment is requiring me to pay 1&1/2 months rent. Am I obligated for that amount by law.

Re: Lease agreements concerning layoffs from work

Probably. There is no law that allows you to get out of a lease because of a job transfer. However, I would need to review the lease in order to give you a complete answer.
