Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Lease

My husband, our 5 yr old, and I share a 2 br/1bth apartment. For two days we had trouble flushing the toliet w/o it filling to the brim then it progressed into any water in the house that got turned on would cause the tub and toilet to fill w feces. The landlord says the plumber found grease and baby wipes clogging the pipe to the septic system. We were both at work during this. The landlord says she will pay the bill and we can make payments to her. Is this correct? We have no baby wipes in the house my son is 5. And I would never pour grease down a sink drain. Are we responsible for this?

Re: Lease

Quite possibly, if the damage was done from your unit, whether baby wipes or something else. However, that is not an issue that is going to be resolved in a forum like this.
