Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
If you have a lease with a landlord and landlord passes away, do the heirs have the right to evict you with or without notice. Thank You

Greetings,
The first thing you should do is consult the lease agreement you have with your former landlord. Frequently, such an agreement will specify whether the lease is binding upon successors or if it is to be terminated upon the death of a party. If the lease is silent, then generally speaking, to avoid a claim against the landlord's estate, the heirs will probably have to provide you notice as specified in the lease.
