Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
lease termination
I signed a 1 year lease with my apartment complex in sept 2007. My complex has ammenities that I am sure are included in my rent. In october 2007, the leasing office caught fire. No of the tenents are able to access any of the ammenities that we have been paying for due to the fire. The tennis court, the gym, the pool, and club house are no longer. These ammenities were to be up in running in May 2008. I am now told these ammenities will not be available until August or September 2008. Do I have any legal rights to terminate my lease at this time?

Re: lease termination
Read your lease - that will tell you what they are to provide in exchange for rent you are obligated to pay. Does it state that they have an obligation to provide the amenities? Most will probably not, and will specifically state that there are no other agreements or representations other than found in the lease.
