Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
we are leasing a home in savannah georgia and had already 2 attempted robberys and now our dog run away and was shot by our back yard neighbor. our lease is running out in frebruary 2013 but we have one 1year old and one on the way. do we have any rights to get out of this lease??

A landlord is not typically responsible for those things, unless it is in the lease or the landlord was involved in the crimes. Did you check out the neighborhood in advance? We also do not have your lease to see if there is an early termination provision - you should know that. Either way, your safety should be the top priority so contact the landlord to work out a deal to move and settle any remaining money due (if there is no termination clause in the lease).
