Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
If I live in an apartment complex that's negligent to their tenants by not paying to fix the access gate so they can issue access cards to tenants instead give out a code which is given to anybody over the phone. It was even posted on the key pad on the visitors gate. I moved in December it is April I still haven't received a access card. There is also a big hole in the gate behind the apartments which they are aware of. Last week I was robbed in front of my apartment. I am the second female to get robbed during this neglect. They have not done anything to improve the situation. They simply do not care. Do I have a case? What type of lawyer do I need

IF you have a case, which would require many more facts (i.e., did the complex advertise security, or is it in the lease, or was it simply an amenity they agreed to provide?), the practical issue is what is a case against the complex worth. What did you lose in the robbery? Would a lawyer spend several hours on a contingency, or would you pay hourly? Most apartments will cover themselves and not undertake responsibility for security, and one person (or entity) is not generally responsible for the crimes of another person.
You may well have a case. Consult with a local attorney.
