Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
i was living in a place and discovered black mold and mildew all on my belongings and all the window seal and the wall in the apartment, i contacted management and told them, she told me to just open my windows and turn the air conditioner on. I asked for a de humidifier and they never brought one to me. They did nothing to try and accomodate me, they didnt send anyone out to inspect it nor did they send anyone out to clean it up. I also have allergies, one morning I woke up and my eyes were swollen. So I went to start looking at other apartment, the manager at the apartment building where the mold is said that the only way she would allow me to break my lease was if i gave her 30 day notice. I said even though it is causing me to become ill and she said yes. I got approved for another apartment and i moved, also i returned there keys and she said I would not receive my escrow back because I didnt stay the extra 30 days. What can I do. Am i able to take them to court...I also have pictures of all of my belonging and my face.

The landlord has one month to return your security deposit and/or tell you what it was spent on. So, once the one month period has lapsed and you have not received anything, speak with a local landlord-tenant attorney about pursuing a claim for improper retention of your security deposit.
