Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Moldy home - renting

I have been renting a house in Atlanta where there has been a mold problem that was just discovered. Over the past few months I have been sick with multiple sinus infections, colds and other illnesses related to this mold. My landlord says she will remove the mold, but I want to know my rights. Can I get money back and move out? Is she responsible to have my things cleaned? I am worried that even with the house clean that it is a hazzard to my health. What are my rights? Please advise.

Re: Moldy home - renting

Your landlord has a duty to repair, which would probably include at least some of the mold problem. You should go to a doctor to have your symptoms checked out and if they are caused by the mold, talk to a local attorney.
