Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Money Judgement. How to get liens, garnishments, etc.

I have a tenant that hasn't paid in months. We have gone to court and come to agreement on a payment plan. The condition is that if any payment is missed, we get an immediate Writ of Possession and money judgment. We are pretty sure that this will occur this week.

Concerning the money judgement, I'm not sure how we can follow through on it as all I know is the renter's name and bank account info (if it hasn't changed). I don't have her SSN, probably won't know where she'll move on to, etc.

Also, I'm pretty sure she is only self employed now, so no real employer.

How do I go about garnishing her bank account, determining if she is drawing a paycheck from somewhere, etc? I think she actually owns a property in a different state (S. Carolina), so I'd like to find that and get a lien on it also.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Re: Money Judgement. How to get liens, garnishments, etc.

After you obtain the judgment there are many ways to potentially find a defendant. Once you have located them and get some information regarding their assets, you can begin the process of collecting on the judgment.
