Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

i moved to an apt with a roommate and she decided that she could no longer paid for the apt she is giving me time to look for anothe rommate, but she is telling me if i find someone that i need to giver har back the deposit fee. Can she legally do that?

I am not sure why you think she is somehow legally prohibited from asking you for the deposit back. You leave out any details about the lease, deposit, the agreement between you two concerning the deposit, etc. Given there are too few facts to give you much of an answer, why not resolve it by having the new person pay the deposit, then refund the current roommates portion.
