Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

The owner of our home is in foreclosure

Hello,

I have been addressed with a problem. The owner of the rental property I live in as well as my neighbors went into foreclosure. It will be sold on the court house steps on the first Tuesday of November. The property managers were not aware of this until I brought it to their attention. Do I have to move? If I do what amount of time am I entitled to? What do I need to do? I'm a single mom and have a child to think about. Thank you for your time and efforts.

The new owner accepts your current lease along with the property. So, you do not have to move out simply due to the foreclosure.

You can only lease what the landlord has to offer - and soon he will not have it to offer. Your safest option is to start looking for a new place, and move on and not worry about it. As for what you are entitled to, the bigger question may be from whom? You can possibly sue the landlord for moving expenses for breaching the lease, but you'd then have to collect.
