payment liability

I rent a lot in a mobile home park which has recently changed ownership due to a foreclosure. the previous months rent has been requested by the new owners. Do they have a legitimate claim in this request? If not what options are available to me?

We do not know the foreclosure date, or when the "previous months" rent was due, or other important circumstances left out of your post. The new landlord may or may not have a right to the rent, or part of it. However, the buyer at foreclosure (or a party buying from them) usually has a right to dispossess tenants, so working it out with them might be important, especially if you know you owe.
