Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

How do I put a lien on property I have a monetary interest in?

My mother recently passed away leaving no will. I have a vested interest in her house and property even though it is solely in her name. I can prove this with signed (by her) documents. The problem is that she owes the mortgage company over $150,000 and I am afraid they will foreclose and I will be out $75,000! My question is - Can I place a lien on the property to keep the mortgage company from foreclosing and my losing everything? Or is there anything else I might be able to do?

Thank You in Advance,

If the mortgage lender has priority over you, you will not be able to change priority merely because you file something. They are entitled to rely on their security interest in the property.
