Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
We recently signed a lease for a rental home through a property management company. After signing the lease and paying a deposit on the home, we had some issues with the home/property management company that we feel are not fair and we don't want to move into the home. The lease doesn't go into affect until another 10 days, and they told us that we can't legally move into the home until the lease starts. Is there some type of legal tie to them that we have to where we can't get our deposit back? Because we aren't technically breaking the lease until August 20th. Or should this be just an easy thing to tell them that we don't want to move in anymore and we just want our deposit back?

The "some type of legal tie" is the contract you signed - the lease. You are confusing the validity of the contract with the dates of performance (ie, the move-in date). You should always assume a contract is binding the instant it is signed by the parties unless it states otherwise. Of course, we don't have the contract to review.
