Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
Removing an occupant from my home
Almost three months ago, I permitted a friend of mine to stay at my apartment with me as a result of her eviction from her own apartment. We verbally agreed that she would be staying 2 weeks to a month while she got her affairs in order. Well, three months have past and she refuses to leave. She goes through my personal items while I'm at work, constantly calls my phone leaving threatening and degrading messages, and she has destroyed many of my possessions, and is making my life miserable. I want her gone immediately. How do I legally remove her from my home?

Re: Removing an occupant from my home
The safest way would be to give her 60 days to leave the apartment and then file a dispossessory (eviction) if she fails to leave. Or, if she is violating your agreement, you can demand that she vacate immediately and then file a dispossessory.
