Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
I have a rent agreement that was hand written and never signed by myself or the Landlord. In the Agreement it states that if I do not buy the house after one year, the landlord will refund me $1500 due to down payment being saved up over the past year. Now I am moving out, not buying the house and the landlord is saying "that is not what she meant, that she meant if she sold the house out from under me she would refund me $1500" She has stated she will not be refunding the $1500 so I told her I would not pay rent for one month and 20 days to cover for the money she owes me. If that is the exact wording on the written agreement, can she legally do anything to me for not paying rent? Thanks Tina

If no one signed it, it's not an agreement.
If the "agreement" wasn't signed, it might as well not exist. You two have created a Tenancy at Will situation. She has to give you 60 days notice before kicking you out.
