Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I rented a home to a couple who -- in the end -- simply stopped paying rent for 4 months. I filed at Magistrate Court (was awarded rent due for the 4 months). They appealed, the case went to Superior court (I was awarded rent due for 2 months + late fees + court costs). It has been 6 months and NOTHING has been paid. Is there anything I can do at this point -- without too much additional cost??

You need to enforce the judgment. Its a process called execution. Georgia has wage garnishment. You can garnish their wages (up to 25%) provided that they are not self-employed or have only exempt income (like Social Secuirty). Otherwise, you can enforce the judgment on real or other personal property they own if the property is not exempt. I recommend that you hire an attorney to help you with that process. Garnishment is not something you will be ab le to do on your own.
