Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
i was renting a house, the owner sold the house to someone withnout letting me know and then he refused to give the deposit to either me or the new owner. i moved into the house in aug 09. he sold it the end of oct or nov 09. my rent date was the 12th of the month. he was paid for 2 weeks that he did not own the house, $150 late fee for that month (at a rate of $50. a day late fee) i was three days late and he kept a $850. deposit on a lease he broke when he sold the house. he said the new owner has to deal with that it is no longer his problem. can he do that. i have since moved out of the house and have not received my money. can he do this legally.

You can sue the landlord in small claims court.
