Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
I am renting a piece of property from a man who is actually trying to date my 16 year old son. My son is not interested at all. But my landlord who lives right down the street will make every attempt to come to my home unannounced and unwanted whenever my son is outside. He he asked my son very disturbing questions. What can i say or do to this man to get him to know that what he is doing is not right without making my stay at his property any less bearable. Thank you.

No house or lease, or landlord-tenant question, should be more important than the safety and welfare of your children and family. Should there be any doubt about the actions of the landlord, you need to call the police NOW and make sure you check the local registration for sexual offenders. Then, you need to move. We don't have the lease, and you don't tell us what it says about early termination. If you need to pay a termination fee pursuant to the lease, move, give the proper notice, and pay it. If you need to see a lawyer about how to move and terminate the lease (or breach the lease and agree on paying damages), do it Monday morning. Under any circumstances, since you have raised an issue of someone preying on your child, speak with a lawyer Monday morning, and start this weekend fining a place to live and planning a move.
