Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I signed a 24 month lease on a townhome. I have paid 20 months of rent but recently found out that the property is headed for foreclosure and is behind about 6 months in payments. Am i still obligated to make rental payments or should I use my rent to move. The landlord lives in another state and is denying all accusations but letters are still coming to this address that are registered and letters from lawyers asking if my landlord needs help in the event of foreclosure.

Does your lease state that you can stop paying rent if you get foreclosure notices? Probably not. Just because the landlord has not been honoring his agreement with the lender does not mean you get to disregard the agreement you made. If you do, and the landlord works out something with the lender, you probably find yourself with an eviction and lawsuit. You can certainly stay aware and be prepared, but otherwise, you still have a lease and still live in the house.
