Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

A tenant of mine in the state of Georgia defaulted on his lease and left unpaid rent. Can I ask for treble the rents from the court. thank you.

While you can seek treble damages, you generally do not get triple damages, only the rent that the tenant owes (subject to mitigation of damages).

You may be thinking of the provision in Georgia law where a tenant can seek treble damages from a landlord under certain circumstances regarding the security deposit, but there is no corresponding specific provision for landlords.
