Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

The tenants never moved in to a home I rent out, but they changed the locks and didn't give me the new key. In Magistrate Ct I obtained an order giving the tenants 7 days to move and allowing me to obtain a writ of possession after 7 days. If the home is vacant can I have the locks changed after the 7 days, or must I file for the writ of possession and wait for the marshal's appointment? I'm thinking since the home is vacant there would be no reason to file for the writ, unless it's required in order to change the locks. Thank you!

Obtain the writ of possession. Better safe than sorry.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
