Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
Terminated my lease early in Atlanta Ga for a job transfer to NYC. I submitted a notice to vacate before March end to be out of the apartment by end of April. I physically left the apartment April 13 and we also did the final walk through. I am supposed to pay for May as well as a penalty but if they had rented out the unit I was staying in, do I still have to pay that penalty or would that be double dipping?

Yes, since it is part of the payment for the early termination.
