Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Unclear Title

I purchased a home in 1997. Since that time, I was relocated by the military and have been the renting the house. I found an investor to purchase the home, and was headed to closing when I found out that the title wasn't clear when I purchased the home, therefore I can't sell the home until the title is clear. My question is, how was the house sold to me with an unclear title, and shouldn't I have some type of way recouping all the money I have lost from traveling from overseas to attend a closing that fell through, as well as the lost buyer, and the additional cost that I am paying an attorney to get the title cleared, since the original attorney did not complete his job of ensuring the title was clear?

Re: Unclear Title

You fail to actually identify the one important issue - why the title was not clear. We can't guess. Nevertheless, it appears you have retainer, or will retain, a lawyer. He/she will answer your question based on all the facts.
