Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Unlawful Entry painters and cleaners

i recently moved out of my apartment, the lease is not up until april 22, 2006. i dropped by yesterday and there was a lady cleaning the apartment and all of my belongings were in piles on the floor mixed with trash. once i contacted the leasing office, i was told there was a mistake. then the office manager came to the apartment and said it had been painted! i'm wondering if there is anything i can do from a legal aspect? since they came in w/o my permission and destroyed some of my things? Thanks for your help.

Re: Unlawful Entry painters and cleaners

You could potentially sue the landlord for the damage to your property, but it probably would not be worth pursuing. If it is worth pursuing, file in magistrate (small claims) court in the county where the apartment is.
