Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Verbel aggrements

I made a verbel aggrement to sub lease a house for 6mo. All utilities are in my name and this is my 2nd month living there. Today because of a disaggrement we had, He told me I had to move and I have to be moved out by 6pm tomorrow or he will have me locked up. Can he legally do that ?

Re: Verbel aggrements

No, not unless you are committing a crime otherwise. In order to evict a tenant, a landlord must file a dispossessory action and obtain a writ of possession from the court. Only after you are evicted through this process and by the marshal or sheriff, if applicable, can you be considered trespassing.
