Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Georgia

Abuse of Quasi-judicial authority

This IS a legal question--see end. 2 years ago I began a collaborative divorce . I got the lawyers to refer us to a therapist because my husband was pressuring my teen girl to live with him & she was becoming hateful to me. The therap. made mistake after mistake. My Child was so alienated after 5 months she was attacking me. The therap.then put her in a psych. hospital. The hosp. made her so much worse she left threatening suicide. I emailed the therapist & my lawyer (they were friends) and said I wanted a referral NOW to an expert for proper treatment. The therap.responded by retaliating: she wrote a letter that said I'd 'damaged' my child and should see her under supervision. She 'referred' to a psych she supervised (she was head of the parent coordinator program). To my shock, he said I had 'no choice' but to see my child minutes a week, if I wanted to see her at all. The PC had 'quasi-judicial authority,' and was between me and the court. I realized my spouse & the therap. had conned me out of my child or any way to even appeal. I want to ensure the PC program can't be abused this way by therapists who act as judge and 'punish' parents as child abusers & take custody. What legal oversight authority should I complain to? Thx

Re: Abuse of Quasi-judicial authority

You address this, and other matters related to your case, first to your lawyer, and then, in the appropriate manner, the court. No one here can second-guess your lawyer, who knows all the facts and details of the case.
