Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Georgia
attorney problems
Hi.I am having problems with the attorney that i hired to defend my dad in his upcoming trial schelduled for the end of July. He is not returning the many phone calls of the family and has seldomly visited my dad. I want to fire him but does that mean losing all of the money we have paid him? And do we have to sue him to get our money back? And how do we do that when he has ALL our money? We hired him in Jan. 2007, so he has been ''working'' on the case for a year and a half.

Re: attorney problems
The client is likely your father only, not you and the family. Discuss with your father and the lawyer. You are not likely to get second-guessing here on either the relationship or any fee agreement.
