Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Georgia

LONG Version-I was involved in a hit & run when i was 16. It was actually a historic case most accidental lawyers use it as a reference all the time. Wolford vs langolis. Any way. I won the case he was caught later that night & was drunk. By the time the verdict came i was 18, the year 2001 i believe. i was awarded 3500.00 plus here is the historic part. 300,000 Punitive Damages. Well it went into appeals. Then my lawyer Past Sen. Rene D. Kemp dies. well asking my parents what we should they are assuring me that the lawyer handling his estate is now dealing with it. They are my parents right, never in my wildest dreams would i think they would take something from me. well 2010 i go to a lawyer to get sole custody of my son when in the paperwork i have to fill out it ask have you ever been in a lawsuit before. I answer yes. Get a call that afternoon from the lawyer wanting to know what ever happen with case, He told me to call the court house in that county & they could let me know the status. I was floored & you could tell the clerk of courts office was also. in 2007 3 weeks to the day i married my wife, My father was cut a check in the amount 19,632 from the settlement. He had went and got a lawyer from another county and somehow the judge released him the insurance money which was only 28,000. I dont understand how that is possible. with out my knowledge. I just got an explanation out of him finally a year later why he did it. He told the ;lawyer he didnt want me to spend it ALL, BUT PUT HIS FOOT IN HIS mouth when he said the lawyer agreed with him. Then he proceeds to tell me he only spent 7000.00 & 8mths later it was gone. BS right. I am now over the fact of not suing them after him telling me that. So i need to know if i have a case, What happen to the 300,000, and can i sue the lawyers & the judge involved for taking my money without my permission. The top of the consent order read as follows: My Dads name, As parent Only, my name, individually plaintiff.

So any Advice what greatly help. It is in Ga and all the lawyers i spoke with said they cant get involved because they new one of the lawyers or judge in the case. I mean @ the trail the man who wrote the book on Punitive damages testified @ my case on my behalf. I think something can be done I just dont know where else to go or who else to ask. Seems like lawyers are scared of it or its not enough money for them to do anything. I wish there was a lawyer that cared more about the ethics & rights of people than how much they were going to make. My Questions are this. Who do I contact about this incciedent, I cant find a lawyer willing to take the case because everyone is part of this circle of friends. What about the Client's Security Fund, am I entitled to that, becasuse I lost money due to what a lawyer whom I never knew anything about took my money. Can My Father & his Lawyer be held responsible in Fraud by Client, the lawyer knew what my father was doing. Last question Can I sue for Punitive Damages being all the hard ache I have been caused, Depression I fell into which caused me to have to go to Thearphy & the loss of my Job for several months that I had worked @ almost 10yrs. I am sure the money is gone, I just think That someone should watch the money that is held in the clerk Of courts Hands, I dont want thins to happen to anyone else.

The answers you got last time don't change. However, when someone says lawyers won't get involved because they are "scared" or because they know the other lawyers, it raises huge red flags. Those are common phrases used by people who have been told they don't have a case, or the lawyer won't take it on a contingency. Those are not real reasons lawyers won't take a case (unless there are relatives or actual legal conflicts of interest).

I rarely quote someone else's answer but Scott is on the money.

My answer the last time you asked and now are the same. See a lawyer. The answers you got last time don't change. When someone says lawyers won't get involved because they are "scared" or because they know the other lawyers or judges, it is a huge red flag to every lawyer. Lawyers don't decline good cases as they are walking from good fees.

When a potential client says that, I know that other lawyers actually have felt their case is weak or debatable or small.

Meet with a couple lawyers and get their opinions.
