Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Georgia

membership overcharge issue

I quite a gym membership in 2006 and am still getting charged. I never received a receipt to show my cancellation. I never asked for one because I didn't think it would become an issue. The gym says the only way they can refund the money is to have a receipt. Until then they'll keep charging my account until I send a certified letter of cancellation. They said they had no record of cancellation. If I did that it would cancel my membership but it wouldn't get me my money back. Is this a complete or can I take some sort of action. The gym is in another state. I'm not sure if this makes anything better or worse. I want to stop being charged but it's only costing me more money. What can I do.

Re: membership overcharge issue

You provide no facts whatsoever about what your agreement says about canellation. Read it, and follow it, if you have not done so.
