Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Georgia
I recently started a new job as a nurse at a local Atlanta GA Hospital. I was video taped during my shift dozing off for a few seconds while charting at the computer. This was done without my knowledge or consent and then texted to my boss and then I was fired for "safety concern". Is this legal to tape someone without them knowing while they're working at a hospital. I never was shown the video, however I had switched to day shift from night shift and my boss had a very causal conversation with me about dozing off, but never let me know my job was in jeopardy. It was also brought to my attention by several staff members and confirmed by my manager that there was a nurse who was upset I got the job and she did not, and that she had a large group of nurses " on her side " that probably would be out to get me.

You posted in the Law Guru area for legal malpractice so most LawGuru employment lawyers will miss your post and be unable to respond. Georgia is an employment at will state so you can be fired for any reason - or no reason. The video is irrelevant to that. There is no law that prohibits such a video being filmed.
You probably know the answer, since almost everyone has a video camera with them, takes videos or pictures of others almost daily, or views pictures or videos of others daily. 99.998% without permission. A medical facility certainly has more restrictions -- for patients and medical records. They probably also have their own security cameras in just about all public/employee areas.
