Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Georgia

Doctor continues to give drug adict pills

Yes my question is, can you sue a doctor for destroying a family and a person. My ex husband is addicted to pills (soma, lortab, zanix, etc.) 7 years ago it destroyed our marriage and today, it's much worse. Now it's torn a huge gap between him and his children. I understand that it's my ex's fault for becomming an addict, but doesn't the doctor have some responsibility to not perscribe drugs to perfectly healthy people? He claims to have a back problem. But he moves around just fine and continues to work as a mechanic. He also told me years ago that this doc will give him anything, no questions asked. My SON just found two new empty bottles of soma yesterday while visiting with his granny ( His Dad lives there).

So this ''trusted'' doctor has been making drugs VERY available to my ex.

Can I sue this doc for helping to destroy my marriage, my family, my child's father, and the for the cost of the treatment center for my ex to be clean?

Re: Doctor continues to give drug adict pills

A malpractice claim is a claim of the patient, not an ex-spouse, and it is the patient who need to inquire.
