Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Georgia

malpractice

I wqas diagnosed with diabetes, 14 years ago, and have had multiple amputations since. my right foot collapsed last year, and i went to a foot Dr. to help. He said he could shave down the bone, and I could continue on with a normal life. he did and I got infection in the bone. Over the next 4 months he told me he thought he could get rid of the infection, he was wrong. he did 3 more surgeries over the next 3 months, and took many x-rays, eventually finding out that my ankle had disentigrayted over that time. I got sicker and sicker, eventually losing 70 lbs. I quit eating, and had a fever constantly, all the time my Dr. saying he was going to fix me. Eventually I went into convulsions at home and my daughter called 911. I was rushed to redmond hospital in rome where 3 days later, my right leg was amputated. Do I have a neglect case against him?

Re: malpractice

You may well have a case. However, your records neeed to be reviewed and an affidavit obtained by another doctor to the effect that your doctor did something wrong. Consult with a local attorney. And, by the way, get another doctor.

Re: malpractice

Yes, potentially. Your medical records have to be reviewed to see if they corroborate your version. If his neglect resulted in your loss of your leg, it is a strong damage case.
