Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Georgia
Statue of Limitations
My son was diagnosed with severe graves disease & hyperthyroidism in 2000. He had prior examinations yearly by his doctor who continued to advise he my husband and I that he just needed rest when he complained of obvious symptoms. When I advised her office of what his college nurse found, she said ''oh yeah, his TSH level was not normal''. He is continuing to have problems as well as surgeries because of this oversight and his first endocrinologist explained that he is so bad off because he'd gone undiagnosed for at least 3 years. He continues to feel depressed about the way he looks now with bulging eyes and is on medication for life because his body would not respond to any medication so the thyroid had to be removed. He's also dealing with more surgeries because of the pressure behind his eyes.
Is there anything that he can sue for now that he is an adult?

Re: Statue of Limitations
The statute of limitations for such a case would be 2 years form the date he discovered or should have discovered the mistake.
