Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Georgia

Can i sue my gynecologist for leaving 'chips of the placenta(afterbirth)' inside my uterus. I was told after a c-section that there was a 'complete removal' of the placenta. I am in pain, and i have to have another surgery to have those chips removed. what should i do?
