Legal Question in Military Law in Georgia
Awol
My sister just started dating a guy who has told he was awol. He is also married and not yet filed for a divorce. She has been seeing him for about 3 weeks so I would have to assume that he has been out for more than 30 days. He was based out of another state. Can she get into any trouble for being around this guy?

No.
Re: Awol
She won't be in any trouble with the military, but lets face it, common sense should be screaming at her that this guy is nine miles of bad road. He doesn't keep his commitment to the military, he doesn't keep his commitment to the wife... what makes her think she'd be any different.
Officially, she can't be charged with anything by the military because she isn't in the military. But prevail on her to break this off, and, I would even urge you to contact the military and provide location information. This is a guy who seriously needs a wake up call.
