Legal Question in Military Law in Georgia
Discharge Info for Employers
I recieved a general discharge under honorable conditions from the U.S. Air Force for drug abuse. When a prospective employer is doing a background check, does it notify them of the reason for discharge? Or does it just appear as ''General Discharge''?

Look at your DD-214. It will probably state the reason for your discharge. Feel free to contact me if you would like me to review your DD-214.
Re: Discharge Info for Employers
It depends on the employer: and whether this is a background check or a security clearance issue.
Most employers ask about prior military service. Many know what goes on a DD214, especially in the blocks 23 and after. If they ask to see a DD214 they will know you've had problems, and may ask.
