Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia
Auto accident - not my fault
In an accident where other driver cited for fail to yield. I Let my insurance cover damage to my SUv $10000-12000. I still owe deductible . Also ambulance, hospital, rental and loss work need to be covered. Other driver ins. company said they would cover after they get all the bills and give ''some for pain and suffering''. Minor injuries seem to have healed. Car was an '07. I don't have an attorney... I feel like I'm going to lose out in all this . Do I need to consult an atty or wait and see what settlement is?

You should no more deal with an insurance company in this situation than you would perform surgery on yourself. In 35 years I can count on one hand the times an insurance company has done the right thing.
Re: Auto accident - not my fault
This is the kind of case I handle day in and day out, i.e., dealing with the at-fault driver's insurance company. I don't think you have irreversibly hurt your case; however, I would cease communications with the insurance company until you can consult with a local attorney.
Re: Auto accident - not my fault
Once you start negotiating yourself with an insurer, you likely have worsened any settlement. Insurers will almost always low-ball and deny claims from unrepresented people. It is vital that you let a lawyer evaluate your case before you jeapordize it. My office would be glad to give you a free consultation to review your claim. Until you talk with a lawyer, do not give any statements to the other driver or any insurer.
