Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia
I brought a package of chicken leg quarters and a package containing a whole chicken (cut up) from my local supermarket and there was a very big dead worm in the bag containing the neck and cuts. I have previously cooked & eaten half of the each package, but I didnt open the bag containing the neck until today when I was getting ready to cook the remainder of the chicken.
Im now totally disgusted and could never eat chicken again. Can I sue the supermarket?

You failed to tell us what your damages are -- extreme illness or food poisoning? ER and ambulance charges? If you are asking whether getting bad food that has not physically harmed you at all is a chance to getting a big check from the grocery store, the answer is no. However, they will probably be happy to give you coupons, gift certificate, etc. If you had gotten physically ill, you could have probably received your doctor's bills -- still not big lottery win.
Unless you were harmed by the worm (illness or food poisoning) you would have no legal claim whatsoever.
If you ask the store manager, I am sure he'll give you a refund and possibly a gift certificate.
