Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

I was in a car accident in 7/28/2010 which messed up my shoulder, neck and left arm. All the ins. company wants to settle with me for is 6,800.00 which I fell is nothing. My medical bills exceed over 5,000.00 and because my attorney has done nothing to work on my case now tells me all of the medical bills cannot be enter since we are in suit, which makes absolutely no sense to me at all. He is mad with me because I wrote a letter to the bar on him and now I think they want to get rid of me for nothing, and I am not even talking to the attorney I retained it is someone else Idont even know. I feel I need to fire him and retain another attorney. Can you give me some advice.

I am sorry to read that that you are in an unfortunate predicament with your current attorney.

Generally speaking, a client has the right to dismiss and replace their attorney whenever they choose, particularly if effective communication has completely broken down. If you currently have a lawsuit that has already been filed, you will need to make the court in Colquitt County aware that you have retained a new attorney (new attorney would file a Notice of appearance of substitute counsel) and you would need to send your current attorney a letter indicating that his/her services are no longer needed.

While you are currently represented by another attorney, I will not offer legal advice. Generally speaking, however, the insurance company of the negligent driver remains responsible for properly compensating you for your injuries and medical expenses.

Please feel free to call my office for additional information. (404.496.4119)

Good luck.
